Pools In The Holidays

Heading on down to the G I pools with my friend Ashleigh we wonder if anyone is there. We were planning to meet up with a couple of friends down at the pools. We arrive and see that most of the yr 8 boys and some girls from P.T England school were there.

The girls we saw were sitting on the platform where all the bags were lying, we sat next to them and saw that most of the yr 8 boys were in the pool. Ashleigh and I went to get changed and sit next to the pool. Walking down the ladder chills go up my spine the water was so cold!

Swimming down to the other end of the pool we hang out with our friend Raenan. We play I dare you for a while and then almost everyone walks into the medium size pool because its warmer. I slide down the side of the pool and just relax it was so warm I could just go to sleep. We played a bit of ball tiggy and tackled one another a few times but it was fun.

It was now one thirty and none of our other friends had arrived. But just around the corner Makerita walked through the doors."Hey Rita what took you so long you were supposed to be here at 12:00?" She said that she had to wait for her mum or someone over 16 to look after her sister. Tanisha her friend was sixteen but apparently you had to be 17 or older . So when her mum arrived all of us went back inside the big pool for a little while.

Me and Ashleigh had to go back to my place at around two so we left Rita and that behind. Ashleigh and I came home and saw that my sister and nana had came back from housie. Ash and I went inside the house and I rang up my mum. She said that Ash could sleep over if she wanted. I was so excited! After my call, Ash rang her parents up. "Yeah I can sleep over" she said. We both did a little dance and sat down and started to play play-station. The End

Term 1 Reflection

The first term of my last year at P.T England school is almost over over. Please help to make it slow down. Soon I’ll be leaving to for college and I won't even notice the time fly by. There are so many ups to this term but there are also some downs. I’ll start off with the ups it was the first term of actually being prefect. I also got to make new friends in class like Taylor and Serenity. Hopefully there will be more fun and good things to come during the rest of the year.

The things that I didn't enjoy about this term would be getting in trouble a couple of times. I hope I won’t be in those same situations again. Also being just a little bit behind on my tasks. Maybe next term I could hand in my tasks on time. Looking back on this term I could imagine some things that I could work on.

The subjects we are learning this year are Writing, Reading, Maths, Te Reo Maori and PE. Also this year and last year we went down to Tamaki College for Technology. Hard Materials (Wood work), Cooking and Electronics were last years classes. This year the classes are Hard Materials, Cooking and Graphics. The class I am in is Wood Work. I think in class I could do much better by not talking to friends as much, focusing on my work and putting my hand up to answer more questions. When our tasks that we get given are optional to chose to be with or without a partner. I will try and be more independent.

I can’t wait until next term because then the other prefects and I can organise more events for the school and also to get a fresh start and to finish things off properly. Overall this term has been awesome.

Old Derelict House

Dashing out of class, just thinking about the old abandoned house and what lies inside. I bought Rita to a halt and told him about my Idea.”What that’s a stupid idea” Rita said to Tim after he revealed his idea. After a long pause Rita finally said “Yeah okay but if we get in trouble....”. “Meet me in front of the house at twelve tonight”. I said.

Walking outside the house I see in the distance Rita running towards me.”Egg, what took you so long?” I said furiously.Rita replied with a” who cares, how do you supposed we get in genius?”. SMASH!!,I had got a big rock and through it against the glass window.

Climbing in through the jagged window I cut my hand from a sharp piece of glass left over from what used to be a window. I was now inside. Grasping my hand that got cut, the smell of mist and dust cover the air. I peer around and see cobwebs everywhere. Rita was so afraid of spiders. Looking to our left we see white sheets over couches, desks, an olden day styled t.v and heaps of other antique looking objects.  A rugged house from the outside but in the inside it was so beautiful.

We split up. Rita on the other side and me on the side where the t.v was. We dust things off and uncover wierd looking stuff. “Hey look at this” I said to Rita. I had found a mysterious book with a weird looking eye in the middle of it. The title was ‘A Mysterious Book Full Of Wild And Thrilling Things’. I opened the book with anticipation to the name of the title, just to find that there was nothing in it, not even a single word.

“Nahr. Nevermind,” I said back to Rita without even looking back at her. “I think we should get going now,” Rita encouraged.
“Yeop I’ll meet you out there,” I replied.
I gazed at the book and it’s title. For a few seconds I thought about what it might just be. Then as I heard Rita yell out one last time, “we have to get going” I then stashed it into my pocket and hurried my way outside.

“Finally. Let’s go hurry up” Rita said already starting to walk up to the front of the house to where the mailbox was placed. I was listening to her, but still at the same time thinking about the book I had uncovered in an old derelict house. Maybe it was a journal. Who knows. I’ll find out along the way.

Test Narrative

Walking into class one day I realize my best friend Sam wasn’t here.” Where’s Sam?” I asked my teacher Mrs Squires. She said “ I don’t know maybe she’s sick or something.” I knew she wasn't. She’s never sick and when she is she always comes to school with a mask on.

As I walked home with my little sister Jo, she said” How came Sam isn’t here with us she’s always here?” I walked along ignoring her because she would just keep on pouring out questions. Suddenly I noticed was that there was no sound in the background, just silence. Not even a bird was chirping. “This is so weird, why is everything so quiet? I thought to myself.

As soon as we got home and walked in the house it was the same. No noise whatsoever.  Putting my bag down next to the front door, I saw mum’s keys hanging on the hook. Mum must have arrived home early mother had arrived home early. “Girls are you home yet” she yelled from across the kitchen.
“Mum!!” Jo yelled as she raced down the stairs and hugged mum so tightly her face was turning red.

As I walked up to her I said “Do you know what happened to Sam today Mum?” “No what?” Wow I thought actually knew for she is best friends with her mum. They always go and get their hair done together and she usually doesn't do anything without her.

“ I'm going out to see Sam” I yelled as I ran out the door. Sam had only lived next door so we usually go over each others house to chat. Knocking on the Robertsons door Kate Sam’s mum opened the big black castle like door and said “Come In”. “I was just about to come over when you knocked on our door”. “Do you know where Sam is” i asked hoping not to alarm her in some way. “Oh you didn’t hear Sam’s missing”.

What she’s missing but how she hardly goes anywhere without her mum or me. “The last time we saw here was before her father and I went out to do the groceries. When we came home she was gone”. Kate had explained all I needed to know about Sam.

The next day I went to school there was another person missing. How can that be two people in the same week. What was going on? This time the person that was missing was Mary one of the sweetest girls in school. Where could she have gone?

I was starting to worry because each day their was a least one person that was missing. And the worst thing was I was the only one that noticed. One nite I went to Sam’s house to see if their was any clues to find her. First I checked up in her room she was really talented she could draw anything up to a simple bunny to a night sky full of souls and spirits.

There was one thing that I noticed and that was a drawing of the whole town one that I had never seen before. Her drawings always had meaning but his it was almost like a map, with marked out spots and little notes that I couldn't really read.

I kept the drawing and studied it hard. Then it clicked. Since this looks like a map why don’t I see where it leads up to. I followed the map and where it lead to. Inside of me it felt like it was going to lead me to Sam and the others.

Strangely I ended up in the town centre. There was no one here but the strange looking statue in the middle. Five steps north was all I could read from that point. it was raining and I could hardly see a thing. The map lead me to the statue I climbed up on the base of it and looked at it hard. In it’s eyes I could see something. And thats when I noticed. In the cemetery I saw her and the others. It was like they were hiding from something. But what?

I ran over and said “There you are what are you guys doing in there?” I going to get you out. The lock was stuck I couldn’t open it until I found a large rock. Starting to hammer the lock with the rock like a maniac. It opened and they all ran out happy. The next day they all explained what had happened. They said that they all were lured inside like nothing. THE END

Mini Triathlon

This week we had an awesome event happen. We had a mini triathlon. For those of you who don’t know what a triathlon is. A triathlon is an athletic contest which consists of three different sports. Swimming, biking and last but not least running. We had the exact same situation but it was a mini version.

We arrived at the field with room 15. We sat down on the grass awaiting further instructions. Brett the instructor explained what we had to do for the swimming part. Some of the kids brought swimming togs because we had a little tarpaulin covered in soapy water. For those who didn't bring togs we had to do star jumps until the people who brought togs had finished doing four slides down.

First up it was room 15’s girls we cheered them on. Next was the room 15’s boys. Watching them was really funny because Ashin one of the boys was taking it easy just riding his bike. Next was the room 20 girls I stood up casually and walked over to where we did starjumps there was only one girl who went on the waterslide.

Running over to the transition stage. I grab a bike and put on the helmut. It felt weird because I haven't ridden a bike in ages. In soon got used to it and I biked to the finish. The race still wasn’t over yet, we still had to put the bike away and run.

I ran to the finish filled with exhaustion. I flopped on the ground with the rest of the girls. The triathlon was a one off, which was kind of sad but it was cool while it lasted.Overall I reckon that I could have done better. Hopefully next year in college we’ll get to do these sort of activities.
